Engenharia:
É DO CARALHO!
#4: Why not?
Ás vezes penso que este site é nacional mas o pessoal não sabe, e andamos todos a falar inglês porque sim...
Comentem em português, só para saber quanto somos.

Automatically and categorically downvoting comments that aren't in English or at least don't have a translation. Last I checked, Snotr was an English-language website. It's snotr.com NOT snotr.br or snotr.pt
Not sayin' that English is superior, but using it here is only a matter of common courtesy. I woudn't go onto a Portuguese site and start yammerin away in English either.

#11 Quote a 5-year old article why don't you. You don't think LCD technology has progressed hugely in the past 5 years? We have incredibly accurate 8-bit IPS panels with 178 degree viewing angles. 30" screens with 2650x1600 resolutions... something you couldn't even dream about on a CRT!

-as an American Industrial'Designer, -i can advise that the two initial elliptical-gears indeed serve a useful purpose of obtaining an accelerating/decelerating output from a constant-speed driver (right-side gear); -however, the other examples are merely demonstrating interesting mechanical-decor which have no particular useful purpose other than 'artistic curiosity', --which is fascinating to the layman in that it appears rather goofy to one's mind's-eye... -INVENTECH / SanDiego, Calif.

#27 are you a designer?
Well, I have new 24" LCD purchased this year, it was damn expensive, and after all settings and tweaking, I still can't get colors suitable for any print design job, on the other hand my old 19" CRT is perfect, because I don't need "incredibly accurate" colors, I need realistic colors...
But I won't argue with you, we are off topic anyway
