So that's your solution for over populating the Earth? Making people live in smaller spaces... not very tempting i must say...

#2, He was using inches, wasn't he? Even countries that use the metric system use inches even though it's not part of the metric system (well, I know in India they do)!
However, just for an example: If you can't understand how much 100 inches is, then just 100 x 2.54 and you get cm (1 inch = 2.54 cm). After you get the cm you can divide by 100 to get meters if you really want.

You will spend more on the furniture than you will on renting/buying the apartment

First you have yards, then foot, then inch.
It just doesn't make any sense. Same like farenhait and celcius.
When it's above zero it's like 85 farenheit. When it's cold it's -2 degrees celcius. WTF.
Just use the metric and celcius all the time. Saves everybody trouble.

Although off topic, i'm from a metric country and have only been taught metric, but i still understand basic imperial.
Imperial measurements ARE still used in most countries despite what #10 says. Ask a person how tall they are and you get an answer in feet and inches, go to a hardware and you still get 1/8 and 3/16 bolts.
As already mentioned 1" (1 inch) = approx. 2.5cm, and 1' (1 foot) = approx. 30cm. Think of it this way and it's pretty easy to get a feel for measurements (give it a go #2).
Failing that get a tape measure or your iphone.
The furniture and engineeringare facinating... let's just hope the affordability comes into the price ranges of most people.

Off topic:
The US calls rugby football even tho' 99% of the time they use their hands to pass the "ball"! So I'm not that surprised about the imperial measurement.
Anyway this looks awesome but i bet the prices are very steep, if they were reasonable, I wouldn't mind filling my home with those.
Cheers!

The French came-up with the metric system in 1793 but it did not catch on for many years. The meter was supposed to be one tenth-millionth the length of the distance from the North Pole to the Equator when measured on a straight line running along the surface of the earth through Paris. How in hell did they come up with THAT idea?
When the English standard system of yards feet and inches was considered against the metric system by the US, the US adopted the English system. The US still has some company in this matter; Great Britain, Liberia and Burma are right there along with the United States.
Things, however, are slowly changing to metric here but it is a slow process.

Confused by English measurements, and wondering why we in the US don't use the metric system? It's because measurement systems different from what you grow up in are confusing. You've developed an intuitive sense for measurements in centimeters and degrees Celsius. We've developed an intuitive sense for inches and degrees Fahrenheit. Speeds in miles per hour are familiar to us. Speeds in kilometers per hour always sound faster than they are, just as (I expect) speeds in the former metric sound slower to you than they really are.
So it's just momentum that keeps us on English units, and I don't really know what it would take to change that. Passing a law mandating the metric system in some way would be exceedingly difficult.

For the ppl complaining about what the prices of these babies will be. first of all... we dunno the prices so we are we imagining them ? and secondly... im impressed NONE of you mentioned that with most of these furniture you actually buy 2 furniture (or 3 even) and not 1... so yes.. designer and engineer should earn something for their advanced lego setup!

#21 bullshit i grew up in ireland and we changed from imperial to metric years ago ok some people still use it the older generation but every know's that the speed limits are in kph and you buy a liter of milk now its an old useless and disturbingly complex system try looking for the right wrench or a spanner in metric its so much easyer

#19 In the US we call rugby.... RUGBY and we call American football... FOOTBALL.The football in the US is shaped very similar to a rugby football.
Remember , American football was born from rugby football in the 1890's at colleges in the US and proved to be a much more spectator-friendly sport with forward passing and a scrimmage line to add to the action.

Everything looks uncomfortable and it looks like it is all made for kids or short people. It might be better if the rooms where tied into a computer and you could select sleep mode, dinner mode, workout mode, to automaticly move the funiture into different setups. I would get tired of re-arranging the funiture.
#22 I remember when that law came out. I was a mechanic at the time and I had to buy a lot of metric tools. Cars at that time had some english and some metric, bolts where painted blue if they were metric, it was a pain. The cost of re-tooling for metric is staggering for factories so I understand why they didn't switch to metric all at once, but I thought we would be all metric by now.

#2 Think about it...we're talking about a country where George W Bush was actually elected for a 2nd term, after we knew what a fuck-up he was, from his 1st term. A country who starts and fights illegal wars. 50% of us don't know shit about shit. this country is like the bully sitting in the back of a classroom causing trouble, but gets floated though life because he's attractive and a great athlete. Logic and intelligence are looked down on, here.
I don't know about the beds as far as this furniture is concerned, but I can say, 1st hand, that the tables are great. My friend bought one 10 years ago and still uses it every day. He definitely got his money's worth. He just has to make sure he knows where his pets are before he makes it go back to a coffee table.
#25 Mechanics in the US all have both metric and standard (outdated) tools.

Also a country that has now elected the most un-American President in our history with no real proof that he even IS an American! His own grandmother in Africa said he was born in Kenya. Go figure.

In 1975 when the Metric Conversion Act was passed most mechanics (including myself) did not have many metric tools unless they worked on foreign cars or motorcycles.
