A smart solution to a very weird problem: I want to display my goldfish while cooking and I can't be bothered with feeding them by hand. ![]()

Guess they wont surive for that long... they wont get enough oxyden to surive.
Ewww... enjoy fries with fish shit in it. Also they have no air filter there so they are going to die eventually.
I`m not one of those crazy environmentalists, but what was the point of this thing? It didn`t solve any eventually problem they would have with left overs on the oil and it lets a shitty water for the fish.

i do not think that the fish are actually happy! this will jst deter people away from McDonalds!
Ok, this is a hoax and one doesn't need to have a deep understanding to thermodynamics to know that floating boiling oil over water will cause some amount of heat transfer.
Thing with this is that the oil would never reach the cooking temperature unless the water also reached the same temperature. In this scenario, the water would act as a cooling agent to the oil.
Mark my words, if the oil and water are in direct contact, there is ABSOLUTE certainty that heat transfer would occur.
This is obviously a clever marketing ploy, designed to wow customers by making them believe the impossible.
And heat transfer is the same reason why we have to insulate the walls in buildings in cold climates.

BP must be responsible for this ad. Seems they want us to believe that anything under their oil won't be harmed in the Gulf of Mexico.
