Very accurate placement of explosives. I'd like to know why they wanted it gone.

That cooling tower was probably hooked up to a nuclear reactor producing plutonium for nuclear weapons.

And I don't think the US needs more plutonium right now.

Nice! Saving taxpayers money by blowing stuff up! Who would've thought? :D

The real question then is... How much of America would you have to blow up before everyone could stop paying income tax altogether? >:)

Lol@#3 great point. #1, they wanted it gone because it was offline, The department of Energy does not allow nuclear reactors to run past 40 yrs, thats all they will permit. Originally they were supposed to be replaced every 20 years, but because its so expensive to a. make a nuclear reactor, and B. Costs more to dispose of the waste it generates, they decided to allow up to 40 yrs pending a full inspection by the department of Energy.

#2 & #11 Did you guys take a nose-dive into some Plutonium Nyborg or something? And the old "inside job" crap is getting pretty worn-out.

Personally, i'd have put clear plastic around the bottom of it, and put a turbine in the center of the tower, and then used the sun to produce clean energy.
