This kind of instruction should come with a bottle, would have saved me many embarrassing moments (or they should sell shoes in wine stores or vice versa)

It's not always successful... That's the loosest cork I've ever seen. Anyway, I'm 1 for 3 on this method. Tried it 3x with different bottles, but have succeeded only once. It's a neat party trick IF it works.

wow that is amazing :) some great information there... one time I had this bottle from like 1947 I think... and the damn cork was kind of crumbling... so it took me like 20 minutes to pick it out with whatever tools I could find... I have to say it was worth it but still...


If I had known I was standing on the solution. :S
