That only works if the maniac drives nicely into it. BTW Only in America. That sort of stopping measures would never be allowed in Europe and other relative sane parts of the world.

Looks more like an anti terrorist barrier. No one would be expected to walk away from this impact. If the goal is to stop the vehicle - it appears to work. Not killing the driver and/or passengers doesnt seem to be a concern.

Lol so funny if that was mythbusters they would have at least rigged up a remote control for the car ....not the Us army they just push it with another car hope its on target and drive off

Nice idea for army check points but usually the crazed maniac has a bomb with him too so i guess its a one use barrier

#7 maybe in your country, in normal countries ( my country excluded :D ) it's more important to keep innocent people safe, what if your insane person has his kids in the car?

well the tape itself is useless unless you've got the concrete blocks to attach it too, which i'm sure all highway patrol vehicles have a few blocks in the boot.

I don't know what did more damage, hitting the tape or the blocks smashing into the side of the car.

If you guys look closely there is a humvee pushing the truck to the barrier. You could also here it swerve out of the way.

actually #(removed comment) it's a kevlar strip and the military uses the same material to weeve nets who are strong enough to stop a truck at high speed.
