When the pranked doesn't laugh at the end, it's definitively not a good joke. It's a kind of humiliation. He told them it's a big fear for him and that's exactly what they've done, they are not "good friends"!

In this case in particular, awaking someone so badly is not a good idea, he may die because of it or he may never sleep well since that or he may be psyco for a while.

Even if this video could be staged, what's in the show is wrong. Scare me to the same level while I'm sleeping, and you need to be very very good friends (I mean, you had saved my life once a time) or I may "overreact" in ways I should regret... Later. i dont get how lying someone on a table and putting a cardboard box over their head even comes close to resembleing being buried alive did he not notice his legs were dangleing off the edge of the table or that only half his body was covered with a cardboard box or the cat flap was flapping on his legs thats without even going into the fact they hardly picked him up stealthily...............epic fail and obviously fake
