Can anyone else see the football? Is it hidden? I just see a soccer ball. hmmm, weird. must be a mind puzzle. >:)

As you can see, football has a meaning of soccer in the A. line.
Football as you call it in US, is in place C.

Also, football is called "futbol, futbolas, fussball" in most languages of the world with a meaning of soccer.

A ball that is controlled by feet is a foot-ball. Hence a game - football. What you play in US is just rugby with modified rules, carrying an egg in your hands and kicking it from time to time.
