my understanding of crossing the road is that it's legal if its more than 20m from a designated crossing (crosswalk), which means the biker is 100% in fault, a like #2 said a complete douchebag!

Pedestrian fault, he's lucky it was bike that hit him.
I was crossing crosswalk to school 10 years ago, and crossed that place like gazzilion times during my education days, and one day, they changed the traffic direction in this street, cos of the road works, and if I haven't stopped and looked left and right as I always do, crosswalk or no crosswalk, I wouldn't be here enjoying snotr vids, I'd be run over by speeding bus.
So, always >Stop< and check before you cross streets guys!!

#10 It is true that the pedestrian had partial responsibility but the biker was the biggest douche-bag. Why? Because the biker was moving on the opposite direction of a one-way street meaning where normally people won't look the other side. The biker would still have crashed into someone who is coming out of a cross-road behind a car just like this pedestrian did.

It isn't because he didn't use the crosswalk or anything... The most important rule for Humans to know since they are able to walk is look both ways before u go.

The biker is responsible for going the wrong way down the one-way street. The pedestrian is responsible for jay walking. These events led to a collision involving both parties.
It's not enough to side with the pedestrian just because the other guy was on a bike. The two bodies collided and an equal force was distributed between them both. There is no proof of malicious intent within the presented evidence.
As for the original claim, I rule in favor of the defendant, and for the counterclaim, I rule in favor of the plaintiff.
Thank you for wasting the courts time and taxpayer's dollars.
Case dismissed with prejudice.

Where the hell did you learn traffic rules #4. And shockingly enough your comment is rated high! What a world we live in...

Jaywalking is an informal term commonly used in North America to refer to illegal or reckless pedestrian crossing of a roadway. Examples include a pedestrian crossing between intersections (outside a crosswalk, marked or unmarked) without yielding to drivers and starting to cross a crosswalk at a signalized intersection without waiting for a permissive indication to be displayed

I don't agree with you guys when you say that pedestrian need to look both ways before crossing, Pedestrians can be a child, someone with mental disorder, blind, sleepwalker, suicider, Prick! or even a dog etc.. and it's none of the drivers business to check if he's looking or not (like: oh he's looking, he noticed me, so I'll speed up, no worries, he will stop after seeing me) Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuh NO! there are rules to respect ... Limit your speed, be aware of your surrounding, cross from the crosswalk... and so on, Knowing that top priority goes always to Pedestrians.

There is to little info on the exact situation and low vid quality as well. So stop blaming 1 or the other. They both were at fault and they seem to agree to to that.
The biggest problem is cities like this is that there are virtually no bicycle facilities so they have to go where they don't really belong. If there were there would probably be an exception for cyclists on the one way rule.

I dont care whos fault that was, the fact that his come back was fckin snappy with cheese makes this a total win for the bike rider. And in the US bicycles are SUPPOSED to ride AGAINST traffic, NOT WITH traffic. So the biker WAS CORRECT. How do you like dem apples ya wallstreet fat cat. Wish it was a motorcycle with a lawn mower welded on the front. (just kidding, love jesus)

#25 Sorry ruhk but you are wrong. Bicycles ride WITH traffic , pedestrians walk facing oncoming traffic.
