They were using hemp for paper long before anyone else ever thought of it in Asia
#1 You may be right that it has never directly caused a death but smoking even pure cannabis produces tar that does cause death , the only true way to smoke marijuana with out such negative effects is threw a vaporizer which is also the quickest way to get stoned.
But cannabis is a drug just like tea and coffee , its all good in moderation and should not be abused , its great for some people and others well some people should stay away from what they do not understand.

#5, I assume you refer to caffeine which also has some nasty side effects (high dosage). The show is great. S06E06 airs tonight.

i'm a passionate smoker i admit, but i quit, not to long ago. why? just like any other substance it has side effects and the weed community is quite quiet about it.
1 passiveness - when I bought a piece or whatever you call it i would be skipping sports, turning off my cell phone .. after a week .. my apartment would look like shit.. .. mah .. everything stops
2 paranoia - if you haven't experienced it .. you have to find a new dealer
2 depression - not every time, but with some sorts of fine herbs i would lose it for a week or two in self despair .. even schizophrenia for some of my friends
3 apathy - and that's the worst disease. we got to love people and care.. and not grow ourselves into couch potatoes
i haven't bought it for a year or two.. but have smoked it ... and enjoyed it
don't glorify it .. enjoy it .. but just as alcohol.. not to often.

yes smoking too much can destroy brain cells.
Some people from my school have became weed junkys.
The last time I smoked it was 2 years ago when I was 16.
I do not think I will ever do it again as I do not want to end up a junky and addicted

#12 Like I said some people who do not understand it should stay the hell away , if you abuse alcohol you can end up an alcoholic , I smoked and I smoked and ya I did get some side effects you know what I did , Stopped smoking so much and stopped smoking for the wrong reasons if you smoke becasue you just want to get stoned then well you deserve every side effect , I Started smoking to relax after a days work then i started being stupid and smoking even when I did not feal like it or I knew it was a bad idea . So i went back to doing it only when I needed a little extra relax time.

a weed junkie?! everyone is different with pot. for me, if anything, it makes me motivated. i'll smoke a joint and ride my bike for 20km because it's that much more fun. i don't get depressed, i don't get unmotivated (maybe late at night) yadda yadda. i might just cough a bit more, but that's why one invests in a vapourizer!

#21 Same thing for me. Pot doesn't suit everybody apparently, but in our case, it makes everything more...fun !!
I must admit that i don't need it to enjoy life, but when the occasion to smoke is there...why not ? It just add a little more ''spice'' in my life.

I for one think that this video blurs the real issue - what is called Cannabis sativa is actually TWO plants, one which contains THC and can get you stoned, and the other which is known as 'hemp' or often 'industrial hemp', which does not have any effect when smoked.
To legalise the smoking of pot is a separate issue to re-legalising the growth of hemp by farmers for use as cloth, building material, paper, food, cosmetics, and a billion other things which are currently made in less environmentally friendly ways.
People need to know that growing 'hemp' is the NUMBER ONE fast and easy way to replace our dependence on fossil fuels for so many products, and is NOT simply a way to get out of your skull. (Although I'm all for legalising that too.. )

What everyone has to remember is that before cannabis became illegal, the strength of THC in the plants was about 1/10th of what it is today. Even in the 60's and 70's they were smoking weed that was grown in the sun naturally, so it was alot less potent. These days with hydroponically grown weed which is heavily fertilised and under light 24/7 it is far more potent than any of the hippy stoners could have ever imagined.

Also you say they "heavily fertilsed" If you grown indoors and underlight you have no choice you have to best simulate the outdoors which includes feeding them.
