Loco crashed was BR class 49 009 to demonstrate there would be no radioactive leak if a nuclear flask train crashed. This is filmed on the Old Dalby test track in Derby, England.

It would have been a more conclusive test if it were mounted in front of slabs of concrete backed by a mound of dirt (a big mound).
It looks like a lot of the shock was absorbed by the movement.

What is the flash at 47-48 sec? a flash for a camera?

Also, is that a crowd of people at 1:04. A little close, aren't they?

So they used an old train, they staged it on plain ground, they put the container at a level approach so it didn't get hit by anything angular. They really did their best to make it seem like that container is super powerful. I'm sure things would go differently if there was a slope, if that train was a bit more powerful, if it hit the container from the side instead of straight on. They're just proving their point without risking it. Really cool explosion though!
