I have been very fortunate to know Dai Vernon "The Professor" as we called him. I was also very fortunate to do the exact routine you just saw at the Hollywood Magic with Dai Vernon in the audience. By far this is the finest slight of hand routine in magic and has survived the test of time. It really dates back to Egyption times and drawings of it are on the walls of one of the pyramids.
