Aaawesome show !!! Would love to see that... too bad the tickets are so expensive, but I guess its worth it! Good post.
This is from 'Kooza'. I saw it in Portland OR. Great show. I will say the 'accident' at 4:45 was staged. He did the same thing when I saw it. Was well worth the ticket price, but all Cirque shows are.
I wonder who gets more adrenaline: the performers who have done it a bunch of times or the audience.

#4 Accident, I saw this act when it was part of KA at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and they didn't do that, but they did make a mistake near the end which they tried again and got right. I'd always wondered if that mistake was part of the act.
Do this once and you'll remember it all your life...
do this everyday, and you'll only remember the parts when it went wrong...
so hard to get high... so easy to get used to beeing that high...
Human hamsters!
Why do they call it the "circle of death" if a mistake would just mean an injury? Surely it should be "circle of broken leg" or "circle of faceplant" if they come off - it would take a freak accident for them to actually die...?
Been to see them live at 4 different shows and i will keep going as each show is just so amazing. #16 they have done one thing better they show you dont need bloody animals either to make a circus,
Btw that mistake at 4:45 #4 All part of the show theres another variation of this we a guy does it blind folded and pretends to make similar mistakes

Someone needs to do a backflip on that thing. If you find me one ill give it a go and we can put the results up on here.
Saw the exact same performance in 1987 with Ringling Brs Circus, minus the theatrics. Daring, but nothing original.
I just saw Kooza on Sunday, Feb 27, 2011 in Tokyo. During the Wheel of Death performance, there was a REAL accident toward the end.
While jumping rope, the performer slipped from the highest position and crashed onto the floor on his back, with his right shoulder seeming to hit first. This was definitely NOT part of the act. The other performers quickly stopped the wheel before it would hit the injured man. Emergency personnel rushed onto the stage immediately. He was conscious, but writhing in pain. After stabilizing him, he was carried off strapped to a backboard. Very tragic. So far, I haven't read anything about the accident on the news sites, so I'm hoping the young man wasn't injured too seriously.
#14 I bet it looks much higher when you are standing in front of it. And yes. It's not to hard to kill yourself on a thing like that. Don't underestimate that.

When the performers were inside the ring the audience were cool but somewhat bored. But when the performers started acting outside the ring, the audience were crossing their fingers hopping that no accident would happen. Really nice find.
