If you look closely, they both are freaking retarded. Neither one is innocent, and as a matter of COURTESY the kid on wheels should have let granny through. After all, she is a pedestrian and pedestrians have the right of way in America. EVEN IF THEY ARE BEING RETARDED.

Seems the majority of comments place the blame on the woman. Really? After a 39 second video where you can't see what happened prior? Of course no teenager would ever edit a video to make themselves look inocent would he/she? #13 has a more plausible take on the limited information given in the video.

she just jumped right into him..as if she didnt saw him and there is not enough space around..you really see her try to tackle him..and i bet she try to get some money out of it. both had eye contact before the skater started..she had enough space to walk..he didnt run into her..neither knowing nor by accident. She simply didnt liked the kiddos. Look at it slowly..she didnt tried to get away (after he saw him)..she ran in his way on purpose. And then attack all of them..even people that are 10m away and arent involved. In my opinion..all old ladys "fault" or intension.

crazy lady had it coming. she clearly walked towards the skater as soon as he got on his board. she was nowhere near him and then all of a sudden, changed direction straight towards the guy on the board. retarded old lady prolly hasnt gotten any sexual intercourse in a loooong long time

She knew what she was doing. It was no accident. The whole purpose was to do a body shot on the kid, much like a smart outside linebacker. Although, she should have put her head down and nail him with her shoulder. He wouldn't have gotten up. It's likely not the first time skaters used those steps and this was the time that she snapped. I'm in the minority here, but I'm rootin for granny. And I'm a surfer/skater. I just choose my spots better. Like, night when no one is around.

What dumbass edits this video??? it's supposed to be an extra 15 seconds longer so you can see EVERYTHING from start to finish......Why edit it though seriously.....probably a skater uploader.

#7 i think you need to watch it some more and watch closer , she steps into a guy who is just about to take off then she goes for the guy with a camera , its shows all that she jumped in the way and then started the fight no court in there right mind would let her get away with it and she would cop a hefty fine for it , where i am from we have skate safe zones if some one walks into this zone and see a skater coming for them and then steps in there way they are slapped with a fine

The phenomenon here can also be seen clearly at traffic lights. People crossing the road without full attention when suprised by seeing a car that they are on the tipping point of crossing in front of get startled and will decide for some reason that this is the sign to step out into the road. Often this happens at rush hour. You can often find someone waiting at a green cross sign for ages and then they will have their attention drawn by the crossing man light turning red and the step out and cross the road. LOL people are so dumb.
It seems to me that she was walking toward the stairs but was going slowly because she was apprehensive about which way the skater was trying to go and wanted to stear clear. This had the effect that she kind of kept left so it seemed to the skater that she was potentially not going to the 2nd steps to the right, allowing him to go first/ going slowly enough for him to go in front. Then when he starts to run she makes a poor judgement call to dash fowards and out of the way of the skater which ended up in a collision which sent her (arguably justifiably) mad.
This really is the skater's fault although it was unintentional as a skater he should really have ensured that the way he was going was completely free of danger to himself and those around him. When skating which clearly has the potential to cause injury to others skating in a public place you have to make sure that you take the safety of those around you into complete consideration.
