#3 i hope you are joking, if not:

"Translate for Animals is an application for Android phones that recognises and transcribes words and phrases that are common to a species, like cats for example. To develop Translate for Animals, we worked closely with many of the world’s top language synthesis teams, and with leaders in the field of animal cognitive linguistics, including senior fellows at the Bodleian Library in Oxford.

Hilarious April Fool Joke by the folks at Google. LMAO"

I was waiting for the guy to go up to to a sheep.......and for the farmer to say "The sheep LIE !!"

There is a flaw. It doesn't recognize what kind of animal it is by the voices; meaning we have to tell the Android phone which animal it is. :S

They should have included that old joke where he tries to translate what the sheep are saying, and the farmer goes "Don't listen to them. They're goddamn liers!"

Its funny to me that people buy into this "noise to speech app" its a real app, but it is fake. Its just for fun!
Animals do not communicate by means of cognitive linguist thought. like humans, and thus cannot be "translated". Language is not something animals do, it is not within their higher brain function to do so. We do observe Audio communication, but that is different than Language.
Sounds produced by animals can relate a wide variety of emotion however: frustration, pain, curiosity, playfulness.
