#1,If you want an affectionate pet bird, they must be imprinted to humans, with emphasis on the human hand. If a hatchling imprints on it's parents, it will just be a bird and not a very good pet. I know this to be true and I have the scars to prove it.
indeed lovely till they bite in your hand, nose or ear
know it since we had one. unfortunately it died

Me and a roommate had one of these birds a while back and she was just as cuddly. Her favorite spot was to hang inside my t-shirt and look out from below my chin..
We spent many evenings playing Quake together. She just loved being scratched around the head as well. It is quite a special feeling to have a bird lying in the palm just waiting to be scratched.
Unfortunately she managed to crawl inside a tube lying atop a shelf one day... the tube crashed to the floor. Rushed to the vet. Still remember with pain visiting her after they kept her for observation. She was broken but when she saw us she came limping, trying to chirp happily... It ended there.
This awoke fond and sad memories..
My littlest parrot,a White Bellied Caique, does the same thing and spends a lot of time in his cage lying on his back playing with toys. Hand fed baby parrots make great pets. Here is an example....
