Umm, they don't actually show any film of them landing safely.
There could be a big of dead snakes ![]()
lolz #5 Try and throw an ant from a tower..you think it will land safely? I guess the air friction is so high that the landing for them is like you jumping from 1m high ![]()

OK, these look like controlled falling snakes to me. Not flying snakes.
Maybe this is how they got on that plane.?? ![]()
#9 i saw a documentary on this before.. they tested and filmed the snakes and studied the results on a computer with 3d models.. the snake flattens its body to create a natural airfoil when the snake moves while in air... as a result, there is some minimal aerodynamic lift that enables the snake to glide further..
so actually, in a mechanical/scientific sense... yes the snake does fly (sort of) ![]()
#5 in the documentary it does land safe, many many times
actually, they only used one snake for all the times that they filmed it flying off the stick
