The trick starting at 01:40 was explained on QI. The middle finger and the ring finger share the same muscle, and the middle finger's got more than 50% muscle usage. When you bend the middle finger, you strech the muscle which moves the ring finger and usage of the middle finger becomes significantly limited. There was a magician I saw on TV who can lift the ring finger while in that position, but he said he can "lock" his fingers in positions, so he locks his ring finger before putting his hand in the previously mentioned position.

I did the candle trick a few weeks ago and it worked perfectly even from 5cm above the candle. Left everyone speechless for a few seconds :D

#12 do explain why the candle smoke catches on fire with your basic school knowledge...

#13, well cause the "smoke" coming from the candle has candle fumes in it which is very flamable so if not to far, it gets ignited again.
the not to far part: when it floats to long it gets to dry to be able to ignite...

another fun experiment: light a match, blow it out, shove it in some melted candle and hold in in the flame. this time it will burn with soooo much more flame cause of the candle wax...
