Air Show

Not only is the airplane unbelievable but the pilot is also taking g-forces between about +8 and -4.

The airplane is an Edge 540 manufactured in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

The engine is 540 cu. inches, 10.5:1 compression ratio, has a Cold Air induction System and is fuel injected , Barrett Precision Engines.
It makes 320 BHP at 2850 RPM and weighs 385 lbs. The airplane can fly inverted until it runs out of gas.

The pilot is Kirby Chambliss - he is a Red Bull pilot and a Captain for Southwest Airlines.

Amazing..!

But lets just say I wouldnt want my son or my dad to these kinds of dangerous stuff! The amount of smoke etc coming out of engine makes it seem like its bound to go wrong.

WW2 airfights would had been much more interesting if the pilots would had been skilled like this guy :O 10 monkey heads for him!!!! :(|)

Only question i have is , its a 8.8L Motor and it only produces 320bhp ? Still amazing stunt show , music in the background did it no justice

Amazing skills. The smoke is only there for show, its not because the engine is seizing or anything. He's probably using an additive that produces it.

#6 that's 320bhp @ 2850rpm's... not 6000+
Propeller aircraft need to make power at lower rpm's. If the prop spins too fast the aircraft loses power.

#9 You are right, the smoke is there for show but it is not an additive that is ran through engine. Smoke canisters are used in airshow aircraft that are usually located in the rear of the plane and can be turned on and off at will.
