Really amazing. replayed it a couple of times.
Probably his loved one passed away and he just can't seem to let go and move on.
cool thing is that it's open to different interpretations

Very nice artistry. 
After watching it through I felt that the music mood didn't fit with the animation so I decided to experiment.
I muted the video and played Sufjan Steven's "To Be Alone With You". Feel free to google the song and try it out for yourself.
Waterworks ensued shortly after.

wow.. Love this!! He was all about the "thought of her" but as soon as she stopped being a just a thought and became a reality, he moved on. Fantasies set the bar too high, and can make you miss the reality you've fantasized about for so long. At least thats how the story came across to me.
Such a simple little thing like a dancing couple animation with soo many underlying emotions tied in.. Beautiful art, even if the sketch art isn't really my personal favorite. This, imo, is a diamond in the rough!
as #10 stated, soo many ways to interpret this one. just part of its greatness.

I think the "story" is about a guy who dreamed up a perfect girl and really, really loves her. He dances with her, plays with her but she isn't real. AND THEN PLOT TWIST! The fantasy is actually is the girls, she was imagining a guy who dreamed up someone like her, someone who really appreciate her but the fact of the matter is, he isn't real.
