All was well... now you have to have a passport to cross the border, but it is still fairly easy to get across. Canada is a great place! Go there every year. Easy for me in Michigan.

I've met quite a few Canadians, and what has always amused me is how they always wear a maple leaf badge somewhere on their person. To many people the Canadian and American accent sound the same, and the Canadians are desperate not to be mistaken for an American. Who the fuck would want to be? LOL.

I posted this vid in hope our american friends will stop thinking of us as just a bunch of lumberjackers or living in the wood in a tent. ;)
Glad to see it didn't take that long to get posted! Thanks! :D

No internet flame war will ever be able to destroy the strongest and most reliable economic/political/internationaly friendly borders/cultural bonds between USA and Canada. May this alliance, that has been the greatest of our generation, be so for centuries to come.

@ 876487098 We wear the maple leaf because we are proud Canadians.
IF you have ever travelled over seas you see thousands of Americans wearing the maple leaf on jackets and luggage so people there will think they are Canadian. Because Canadians are accepted and loved all over the world

As an American im moved by this video, All jokes of canada being the homely mousy upstairs neighbor to a raging kegger aside. I traveled to Madawaska Canada once, and found most of the people I encountered on my 1500 mile journey to be very kind. You guys come on down for a visit any time you want. We may not be the nicest country to live next to, but we will always have your back in a fight!

The tired old myth about Canadian flags on US backpacks has been done to death. One time, somewhere in history, an American was spotted wearing a Canadian flag. That story has been told and retold, and Canadians want so badly to believe that this is a common occurrence.
What's really lame is that Canadians use this urban myth as yet another excuse to help pump up their faltering egos and reassure themselves that they are in fact relevant.
I have never felt ashamed to wear the US flag while in another country. Most countries don't care where you are from, they are friendly and really just want our tourist dollars. Only other backpackers seem to care about it.

I can declare that to be a totally false declaration , from personal experience .

You can say it's people reacting to "Me" , but by definition , your comment has to be untrue .

The French , for example , are deeply unfriendly to non-compliant individuals .

Bin there , done that .

"economic opportunity"??? idk but how many immigrants are making big money?? 0,5% ?? my opinion is that America has the worst economic and politic system in the world. Canada is much better, not only because of the nature, which i love... my opinion is based on Capitalism:A Love Story with Michael Moore :)

I guess reality stings some of you,as it should.

#20 I said MOST countries,so France can be excluded if need be.
Your personal experience has nothing to do with the majority
of US tourists nor does it make my statement false. You probably do irritate
Europeans to the point where they are unfriendly to you.

#21 Since you are Czech it is ironic that you should speak so about the nation that liberated your country from the Nazis, but maybe you do not know. When Gen.Patton's Eighth Army rolled into Pilsen the people were thankful, and now they celebrate that event even to this day.

it isn't a myth that americans wear maple leafs on their backpacks. i can count on two hands how many americans i've met who have backpacked with a maple leaf on. it happens all the time.

And in what country were you in when you observed this strange phenomenon,Canada? There are many left-wing liberals in the US that need to move to Canada,it will suit them much better with gay marriage and all.

i'm canadian, but i happened to live in ohio and north dakota for some time. in my time living in those states is where i met americans whom told me they travelled overseas wearing a maple leaf because "people were more willing to help if they saw a maple leaf."
