The only thing i don't get is the reason for the brawls. Did one team sleep with the girlfriend from the other team?

i didnt even know they played hockey in england. after seeing that im booking tickets for the next game

#21 it was invented IN canada and wikipedia doesn't mean it's true. you'd have a valid argument if it were in england where it was invented, but it wasn't.
