That is so cool,I would like to try making some.I hope the flame goes out before they land in the woods and start a fire. They have been known to start crop fires.

Wow my daughter would love seeing this.....a real life scene from the movie Tangled.

One of these was set off a few doors up the road from my house some months ago. It came down, burning, onto someone's car. Thankfully, it just burned away the paint on the car roof and one of the doors...
If it had lit the tyre nearest the petrol tank, the story could have had a completely more dramatic ending.
I am the first to complain about our overly safety-conscious society, but I think there's something completely loopy about launching molten wax into the sky with a combustion source and no idea where it's going...

#18, I can agree with you there, the lanterns are becoming popular worldwide.
Where do those lanterns end up?
I imagine that every janitor in thailand is going "holy shit, its flying lantern day again. Dammit! We'll be cleaning this lanterns for months..."
