IMHO that is just torture. Are insects any different from animals? The scientists should be made to undergo these experiments. They have to be made to move their arms till they rip right off the sockets. :S

Somewhat disturbing. But what you can say, humans are very primitive. I wouldn't be shocked if in the future we encounter some alien race doing the same things to us(yes that includes probing). What comes around goes around.

#4, do you realize that insects cannot feel emotions and that pain is for them really just a signal to make them realize that something isn't working properly, and also scientists don't experiment on animals just for fun, in my country (France) when you want to experiment on animals you first have to prove that your experiment is useful and is using as few animals as possible and then a commission examine your protocol to jug if it's worth the pain it may cause to animals. And I'm pretty sure that such a system exist in every civilized country.
