If a mongoose ever met up with a big Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake he would probably lose.Rattlers and other big venomous snakes that coil-up before they strike have much greater reach than a cobra that only strikes downward from a raised position. A rattler can reach out 1/2 its body length during a strike which equates to up to four feet or more.

#5 You are probably right about a mongoose losing to a rattler, but I'm not completely certain about that. The rattlesnake's striking method is faster than the cobra's.
Most cobras have to actually bite as they have fixed fangs. The rattler stabs it's victim with it's hinged fangs. A couple varieties of cobra have hinged fangs like a viper, but they still use that straight lunge strike method.
There are several types of spitting cobras and I think that might be a game changer, poor mongoose.
As for who would prevail in “rattlesnake vs. mongoose”, we'll probably never know for sure, they are indigenous to completely different areas of the planet.
Stay out of the tall grass friends.
