just answering the title, they can't. Proof? because of their wings narrowness and small wing surface they are unable to get uplift..it's physicly impossible

Where was the rooster half way through (the one that woke him up in the morning)? Maybe the penguins can learn from him how to fly a short distance - or freeze to death.
