I wonder what the render time is for this. Google streetview could learn a thing or two from these guys.

Yeah, in three weeks Nintendo will be doing this for Mario World. Then kids will think that everything is that hi-rez. Time marches on.
#5 And that's nothing compared to this: http://www.sevilla111.com/default_en.htm
111 gigapixels. World record too.
#5 its not bad but if you go left of the president towards the stairs with the red curtain, you can see a black soldier stood north east of the bottom of those stairs, there's a guy at the soldiers left leg who's either really badly deformed or has the ability to twist his own head in different directions lol

This is done with special automatic systems such as Gigapan and take hundreds or thousands of pictures, with a single camera, that later have to be stitched and blended seamlessly. It is a very hard and thorough process as parallax and ghosting are very common errors.
On the other hand, Google street view uses a multi-camera system wired to a computer that shoots and stitches the images directly into a panoramic image. They wanted an automatic system which involved less human work.
I am waiting for the times of 360 panoramic videos, like this: http://goo.gl/ff2kW
