I believe they were trying to do what parkour or free-running guys do....Jump and roll when they hit the ground. The problem is though, that they were bare foot and the ground had grass which means it was slippery and they
could't roll after landing. That's why the first one landed teeth first

Firstly, the commentary is in Chinese so this is unlikely to be ninja related.
Secondly, if this is to prove something, it is to show that you can survive a two story fall with minor to no injury. Though I wouldn't do this for a living.... more like for dying.

#1 There were times where in China and HongKong, certain groups of people would should show you crazy stunts to promote certain martial arts schools. And some others would show the stunt to make a living. What they were trying to show is that a normal person would die from a jump like that but they can survive it.

Supernatural beliefs are such a great help for the Darwin awards! I was really rooting for him to die... Well he can still jump from a skyscraper from which he can reach terminal velocity and get really hurt.
