#1 Your view about luck reminded me a story related to luck.
He was lucky because he survived a shark attack.
He was not lucky because he was attacked by a shark (even though he survived).

I love to dive, luckily there are no Great white sharks over here, nevertheless I'm terrorized of deep waters when I see something like this

at least he did not stay in his jaws for 127 hours o therwise we would have watched this clip in a movie

This is my worst nightmare. I can't imagine a worse way to die.
That fear combined with the feeling of helplessness that comes with being in an environment where you know you are not capable of putting up any sort of a real fight.
Only luck can save you and this guy got seriously lucky!
A suit that absorbed the impact, his son waiting in a speedboat above, the fact he managed to find its eye and give it a squeeze. The fact the shark didn't attack a third time in that minute. Take away one of these things and he's dead.
