Triggering memories of when his mother was punishing him, then he stop moving!

Like when my mom was saying: "stop that or you'll lose the right to go outside for one week!!"
(but this cannot work with modern kids)

Nice trick but what do you do when your cat get more furious when you do that (like mine)? Shoot it on its head?

Yeah its a cool trick to know but I'm suprised a VET of all people are showing people this trick.
It is not as simple as just grabbing it by the scruff of the neck.
If you grab the cat the wrong way you can cause it serious damage as it
has a vain running through that point.
If you are to do this as FUN!! please please peeps feel for the vain first and make sure you grab the skin underneath the vain other wise you gonna really hurt your pet,and could cost you a vets bill.
Sorry to be the party pooper but I thought it best to inform people as the DUMB ass vet forgot to mention it.
Peace N Love peeps;)

#7 cool thinking!! ;)
The video, around the webs, has the title "how to turn off a cat", not how to immobilize.

I have two cats and with one of them this works fine. With the other it paralyzes for a good ten seconds or so then fights free.

Cats mount other cats that live in the same house because it's a territory thing (eg, Alpha male). The one receiving the chomp on the back of the neck stays still as they are the ones being dominated. The bite is usually not intended to hurt, but rather get the other cat into a submissive position. There you have it folks, Feline BDSM. :D

@6 Are you sure this has anything to do with a vein? People temporarily block vessels when getting blood pressures performed but it doesn't paralyze their arm. Can we get a link on that to back up your claim? I tried looking and couldn't find anything. Thank you.
