"she adapts ideally to existing work places next to her human colleagues"
Human colleagues? suuure ![]()
Most work processes robots do are not healthy for humans, like lifting and turning heavy parts. It is also very boring to do the same thing on and on at an assembly line for years.
You also mustn't forget the work a robot needs to be: engineered, built and serviced.
There is still enough work for humans.
wasn't there some issues with ipad manufacturers paying too few to their worker and apple asked them to lift wages or would produce elsewhere.
Seems Frida has solved that problem for foxconn.

lol..i love when people say "Robots destroy our jobs"..you guys forgot that there is always 1-2 people needed to controll the robot..adjust stuff..etc. So the robot is just a helper..it does one job faster than a human but needs 2 humans to be operational. Till now no robot works without the help/work of a real human..its just a helper..not a replacement.
(And i bet if there were no robots you guys would complain "Why so slow..this process can be automated"![]()
6# look.. 100 people makes in 1 hour 100 products, 1 robot makes in 1 hour 100 products but it needs 2-3 people to control it... get it? soo we dont need 100 people lets get 3 to control therobot and robot will work 100 people job

"There is a universal tendency among mankind to conceive all beings like themselves, and to transfer to every object those qualities with which they are familiarly acquainted, and of which they are intimately conscious."
- David Hume
How many hours of programming are needed for "her" to be able to make me a sammich?

#7 yes..i get your point. And its true..but on nowadays population there is a need for this help to get stuff done in time and "perfect". As hard as it sounds..would you wait longer for a product made by 100 people wich got 100 different failure sources..or get your product in time wich is the same in every version? Sure the theory of "robots replace us" its partly true..but is it unneeded? You know the phrase "Time is money" and this robots saves time and can be very precise..wich is needed today.
Just imagine a Mainboard factory..many people solding microchips together..fails ensured..not that much in robots case. 70 years ago..in car industry..yes..robots stole jobs..but in the micro/nano tech industry..robots are needed and dont steal jobs
how is this different from the usual robot arms? cos it has 2? they should have made frida have 4 arms

I program ABB, so I at least have a job in the future ![]()
BTW, the Chinese manufacturing process may incorporate robotics, but the manual line work is so super efficient, it almost makes robots unnecessary. All I know is I'd rather have a weld on a car by a robot, knowing it'll be repeatable and precise/perfect, than a person who may be consistent but not perfect each time.... go robots!

The bots will be required to spray, weld and not kill themselves.
This looks like a rather *creative* response to the allegations of human rights abuses that Foxconn has had raised against them.
Haha... human colleagues. They take over positions entirely. Not a bad thing because they are way more precise and cheaper than humans. The problem is... humans "need" to work to get paid. Since our entire society evolves around MONEY. More humans are born every day. Unemployment rises. I am not blaming robots for anything. It's just the way everything works in it's current state that needs to change. Which isn't going to happen anytime soon. As long there are rich people there are poor people.
Robots are the future of mankind.
If robots make people useless and poor, destroy jobs and income, THEN, how will the people buy their goods?.

There are still people needed, wo deliver the goods, which are processed by the robots, the factory hase moving parts to transport the products, it needs power, and it needs parts to be replaced or lubricated. the progamming needs to be changed, if there is a change in parts. And labeling the parts for shipping oversea. And fly the plane, is all done by hand for now.

guess crime will rise in the near future...
oh wait it already is...
robots are still fine thou for hazardous jobs but this is slightly getting out of hand.
Soon enough we got "Chobits" bots doing everyday stuff for us.
Well...!? Robots steeling works - and arguements against it...if looking at history one has to remember that societies are evolving all the time. In the
18-hundreds lots of invented agricultural machinery replaced large number of people. Instead of employing about 85-90 % percent of the total workforce the agro-sector requires only a few percent. If that wouldn't have happened the entire industrial revolution couldn't occure... Time will provide us with more insight - but until then...
