#2 Sure. You are missing the word harmless.

I so hope that it becomes a permanent solution for not only leukemia but more types of cancer.

1. did you see their lab?
2. remember the amount of money spent on changing a hiv virus

can you imagine what someone could do with a different idea and more money...

its funny how millions or hundred of millions of dollars are spent to cure few, while a fraction of this amount can save the lives of millions dying out of starvation!

#12 To cure a few?
Those millions could be the reason why a few years in the future the lives of millions dying from cancer could be saved.
Oh , and quit using the internet , those few bucks could save the lives of a few starving kids.

If HIV becomes a successful means to treat many diseases genetically it won't be long before all the shit-heads who claimed AIDS was a punishment from God will change their tune and claim it was a gift.

#12 they hardly spend hundreds of millions. the granting mechanisms maybe pay them less than 1 million a year. it's not that much money really to support an entire lab full of people making 35-80k dollars a year, PLUS insurance benefits, PLUS buying all your lab supplies and equipment. not to mention the hassle of doing human studies. it's unfortunate that it costs so much, researchers wish it didn't but that's just how it is.
