The power to weight ratio is a very different between this two type of vehicles . The F1 cars are made of honeycomb and carbon fiber and are powered by lightened V10 engines , while the GT cars are more like modified road cars . Of course the difference is that big .

The largest share of speed diference is becouse of aerodinamics. F1 can go faster in turns without the danger of crashing.
F1 soon to hav turbo....... give me rallying any day of the week. don't see f1 or gt in a forrest doing 100mph ![]()
#13 Yea I don't know which is more crazy/dangerous;Rally racing or the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race. Not much room for error in either one.

I've found that "faster" racing isn't always "more interesting" racing. Just look at MotoGP. The new 600cc support class is much more entertaining than the premier class. And I agree, rally rocks.
Seriously, was that real? looks almost like it's twice as fast. What speeds are we talking about here?

Eau Rouge, Spa Francrchamps. Touring cars go at about 170 kmph and F1 cars to about 300 kmph.
Michael Schumacher was the first to go flat out in an F1 car through Eau Rouge.
