@5 One word: presentation. The way you present your self is key. And if you are a bit shy, then the only way is to practise, practise and practise your prsesentation. If you do not know how you should present your self, then take courses about it or read books and practise. If you look like a male model that is usually a plus, but not a requirement. Normal or average looking people can be great with other people if they know how to present themselves "the right way".
