That isn't a duck,it is a Great Black Cormorant which is evident from its hooked beak and long tail. I hope it made it to safety.

The Cormorants had enough of "Why'd the chicken cross the road?" jokes and decided it was time for other birds to get in on all the attention. They rounded up the bravest ones of their kind, but after every one of them backed down they went with Dave, the flock's drunkard.

We have success indeed!
I love how they beep their horns at it. If only birds could fly...

#6 #16 #27 That's Panama City Beach Florida, my home. The only assholes who run over the birds along Florida's coast are the tourists. It IS good heartedness. That far north in Florida, you're still in the South with all it's famous Southern Hospitality which extends to the wildlife. Beach locals RESPECT and LOVE their wildlife.
Thank you, #14. I knew that wasn't a duck but couldn't make out exactly what it was.
#29 Beeping the horn works on the actual ducks. They pick up the pace. Guess cormorants are more like cats.... they'll respond to you when they feel like it.
