I am confused. Why did they inject potion on the dog? Was the dog suffering of cancer or something and they wanted him to go painlessly? I mean, even if so, i think why not let it go naturally instead of injections?

@banzemanga, he must have been sick. I was in the same situation earlier this year when my dog had generalized cancer. You could just see the desperation and suffering in his eyes. Because we loved him, we didn't want him to suffer because he deserved better. Though it's a terribly hard decision to make, it's for the best. I love him and I miss him everyday.

Appreciating this video a lot!! Thank you for uploading!
I carried my dog, that we found on the streets 10 yrs earlier, in his last minutes into the vet-hospital but when I entered, his head fell down on my shoulders.
If you take care of a dog, you can be sure he will take care of you, forever - no matter what!

i felt terrible when my dog died too. it was tough but at least he died of old age. it must be devastating to watch your animal suffer and having to put him down

Facts:
1) There is no god.
2) Animals die.
Get over it. While you contemplate getting over it, go ahead and down rate me to hide your ignorant fear of the truth.

#15 on point A I am with 100%. On point B no argument. From there on you are an idiot. It is our capacity to care that has gotten us this far as a species. This is why we are above the other animals.Should you let the loss of a pet end your life? clearly not. But to feel for it and miss it? If you don't then you have less going for you than the dog. Because it would miss you. P.S. I think the disappearing comments is total bull as well, and they are the first ones I read.

I've always found it hard to understand why people put their animals down. I have had pets that I have loved and cherished and given them what I hope is as much as they have given me. My question is what gives us the right? We don't put our sick down do we...

#21 I've had 2 cats die from breast cancer. My first cat died 2003 at the age of 13. She had been fighting the cancer for about half a year. When i talk about cancer i mean the real deal, when it turns into a bunch of tumors. One was the size of a tennisball. It burst. The smell was devastating. The cat lived on and we tended her needs. I could not see any sign of "pain" as you do with humans. I really don't believe in "putting something to sleep" just for the sake of it. Cancer/tumors are that stage is really borderline tho. Imagine a human with cancer/tumor the size of a tennisball or bigger *bursting*. That has to be painful.
My 2nd cat died at the age of 12, after half a year of cancer turning into tumors, just like the first one. The first signs of cancer appears around 6-8 years. At this point they're tiny, you barely even notice it. It stays this tiny for many, many years. It wasn't until she turned 12 it exploded in size. After about half a year it had turned from a really tiny unremarkable thing into the size of a golfball. Several smaller ones appeared around it. They did not "explode" the cat died peacefully a day after i noticed she did no longer eat. I really didn't want to "put her to sleep" since i couldn't see her being in pain. She was happy and joyful up until that last day when she stopped eating.

For those that say they don't understand why animals are put down, here is why. We owe it to them. In the wild they would die much sooner and more humanely than in our care. As soon as an animal slows down it will starve, freeze to death or be killed by a predator. All quicker and with less suffering than under our care. We rob them of that when we bring hem in to an unnaturally safe urban home. We can keep animals alive and fed well past their wild counter parts and there by prolonging their suffering. It would be the equivalent to keeping you alive but suffering in a nursing home for 130 years or so.

As a vet tech I can say if pain can be managed at home I prefer to see them pass away at home. Otherwise most clinics try to make the choice as smooth as possible.
