Its landed by computer. The pilot really doesnt do much. He's only there for an emergency.

#9 Nope, the last 300 feet (at the least) are never computerized.

You can find more http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PdUdaXDHm4 - it's just normal to land in crosswinds and not to fail it...

From what i hear all pilots are trained on island for this so it really isn't that big of a deal.

#9, lol, auto pilot gets turned off about 25000 feet, only time auto pilot is used is over the ocean, with good conditions. Computers couldn't deal with crosswinds at all, it just cant process all the data it would need fast enough. Pilots know the airport, wind data, and know the limits of their aircraft, they always land themselves. They may have computer assisted landing in some of the massive planes when 3-4 cockpit crew are required at all times, But it never just the computer.

Taking off at 0:30 is much more dangerous!

@14 I don't think so! Normally the auto pilot and ILS system is used almost to touchdown, because in this clip the A380 is undergoing acceptance trials and testing,it would have been manually flown in. I believe this clip was in Iceland and the high crosswinds found here are the greatest for any airport in the world. An A380 can be flown by 1 pilot as easily as any other plane, actually the computer is faster, more predictive and just as safe especially when locked onto the ILS.
