SpaceX tries out its new SuperDraco rocket engine

The SuperDraco engine was developed using a US$75 million grant that NASA's Commercial Crew Program awarded to SpaceX last April. The ground tests were conducted at the company's Rocket Development Facility in McGregor, Texas, where the engine sustained full-duration, full-thrust firing, and performed multiple demonstrations of deep throttling.

#1 it would be impressive if that craft were real and not just a computer generated model.

About my #1, thanks for stating the obvious Mr #2! wow you really deserve your +10 rating with all that deductive power! (or is that also computer generated? lol >:) ) It doesn't change the fact that it's reachable in the near future and attainable within the realm of current technology, and no stupid -1 on me will change that...

#5 Should we stop all research and advancement then? and if all that firepower fits in that little pod, obviously without much fuel tanks, it will obviously be pretty fuel efficient for a change...

You know, Space-X developed a whole new liquid-fueled spacecraft engine in five years from a standing start, and only spent as much money as NASA spends in 11 days... a superb accomplishment. Now they have a six-passenger spacecraft that has flown in orbit successfully, and still are far, far less money than NASA spills in a few days. Time to let private companies handle our space travel needs.
