My first job was as a box packer. Unfortunately it was in a fudge factory.

I did not see a lunchpod and a toiletpod yet. in about 40 years, you don't have to move a single step in your whole life.

its an interesting system but not necessary. This is a stepping stone for robots to completely replace those workers and it also lets the workers be lazy. Walking is good for you.

We are seeing only half of the process, unless the items on the carts are replicating themselves someone has to replenish the stock om each cart. Any system that is efficient enough to pay for the technology, reduce the prices to the consumer and make the investor a profit is essential. Farming is a good example of technology replacing labor.

oh come on, this guy is only telling half the story, they are just playing the game on replacing the workers entirely, they already have robots that could do the packing as well, but by doing it in steps keeps the employees in a false hope of job security. Welcome to the future.

robots are great, they do their job and don't complain, unlike some people here

Is that progress? Less exercise for the employees, more monotonous work, increased probability of back pain or other muscular fatigue. Can't argue the efficiency increase though, but I don't see how this makes it better for the workers.
