We are paying our taxes for this guy to play with water's service tension and heat convection. $20 K for the cooper wire loop, $50K for the solder iron, and $140 billion for his play pin. Gezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

#8 For what i hear he does it in his Off-Duty time. What would you do in your free time when you are up there for month anyways? Go watch snotr or experiment a bit on your own. As he said..he does it..because he can..so would I :D

(And the space program is the last thing you should worry about in case of taxes spend..there are other things your taxes are spend that you should be angry about..and i dont mean war)

#9 true that, and barely any of the tax money goes to space programs anyway, not nearly enough as it should, besides, if i was off in space, id probably do some stuff just like that on my free time! cmon if you are in space, whatcha gonna do?!

9# Off duty time, what is his real job at a cost of $20 million and getting there by Russian rocket, a NASA preferred foreign-vendor. Your right, why worry, a wasted billion here and a billion there doesn't add up to real money. What the hell NASA is only $18.7 billion budget, so why worry about blowing money on a space program after all we are only $15,564,809,891,767.99 in debt.

We will only pay 4.8 trillion dollars for interest payments on the debt in the next decade. Enjoy the entertainment while it lasts.

#8 You don't whinge about your govt spending 60% of your tax dollar on your military whereas 1% of your tax dollar goes towards NASA and the progression of scientific thought and you bitch about some dude playing with physics whilst he has the opportunity to in space. This is exactly the problem with priorities in today's world.

#12 the discussion was on the subject of NASA. I'm quite aware of that the US military is 43 percent of the worlds total military funding or 54% of the US budget. I agree with you this is absurd and immediately following is social programs at 36 percent followed by general government at 11 percent.
