A windmill in Denmark collapsed during a storm in Denmark on Feb 22, 2008. The braking system failed while two technicians worked in the turret at the top. The technicians were able to get out before the collapse. A 19 meter piece of the blade was thrown 20 meters away; Smaller pieces were sent more than 500 meters away.

At a predetermined speed the blades are designed to automatically adjust the pitch straight in to the wind to stop the prop from turning. Otherwise, critical failure.

Fake, Wind turbines are manufactured with steel. The video shows fibreglass flapping in the wind.

Williams....You say that it is a fake video because "the video shows fibre glass flapping in the wind"!
Your ignorance is truly amazing. The TOWERS are made from steel, but turbine blades are made from GLASS FIBRE. It is a piece of a huge blade that you see in the video at the end.
That video is not a fake. The turbine would have been spinning out of control for quite a while before it disintegrated. This gave time for people with cameras to gather, because the out-of-control turbine would have been visible for miles. That turbine looks like a small one, only about 150 feet in total height. Now they want to put hundreds across the beautiful hills of Wales,UK, that will be 400 feet in height ie almost TREBLE the height and width of that turbine. Spanish wind turbine company Gamesa, even wants to construct 600 feet high monsters in South Wales. They will EASILY be visible from a fifty mile radius. Wind turbines gain next to nothing in terms of CO2 savings , because the back-up fossil fuel power stations can never be switched off due to the vagaries of the wind.Wind energy is a DUPLICATION ,not a REPLACEMENT,far too often.
Wind speed drops far too frequently , without warning. Check www.metoffice.com/education/archive/uk for evidence of UK wind speeds , which are often too weak [below 9 knots] or too strong [ above 48knots] to generate electricity.. This turbine failed to brake and spun far too fast. The vibration then knocked the fibre glass blade into the column. This shattered all three blades.

Wow. I think normaly the bearing would collaps earlier. Must be a nice piece of engeneering there. It would be perfect if it did not explode.

Something like this happened to a windmill on the island Samsoe in the Kattegat several years ago. The windmills are definitely not storm proof! The fragments were spread within a radius of 150 meters. Fortunately the windmill had been built on a large field.
