Helicopter crashes, very lucky pilot
While erecting a seven story high structure, the helicopter's rotor struck a cable causing the aircraft to crash to the ground. The Pilot was helped from the crumpled wreckage with minor injuries. Both of the Panasonic P2HD camera's were recording at the same time.

#3 That's the sound from the air turbine If you look closely, the pilot wasn't dumb and was aware of the hanging cable, but somehow the propeller sucked the cable and boom ! Interesting... I've seen a lot of helicopter crashes and I've noticed the tail of it breaks first in the impact... Shouldn't those be much more resistant ?

That's what I call a close escape...and I'm glad nobody was badly hurt....but honestly.... shouldn't the pilot have been paying just a LITTLE more attention to where he was ?

#4 Its pretty unlikely that the sound comes from an air turbine since helicopters doesnt have any. The whining sound is most likely from a broken gearbox, broken driveshaft or a destroyed belt or something.

Guess he couldn't handle the erection...
Anyway, #11, there are a few ways to drive a helicopter. One is via a piston engine, most commonly seen in small craft and traininghelicopters. The second is via (ram)jets on the tip of the blades e.g. the Hiller YH-32 Hornet.
The most common and most powerful engines are turbine engines. The Bell Jetranger, The Chinook, the Mil 26, the Skycrane, you name it and it probably has a turbine engine

so could someone explain to me why the helicopter was needed to erect the structure? Wouldnt it have been wiser to use a small crane or something like that?

that sound when the blades hit the cable comes straight out of hell
