That's some ugly looking future...
why does it have to look like a inbred lady bug?

Hmmmm......Just out of sheer curiosity....how much energy was used to create it in the first place and how much did that cost ?

80km/h max .. ok for the city
150-200 km range.. way too less. you need to get new air every now and then.
looks.. quiet ugly. but this could be enhanced

concerns?
it looks like it couldnt resist any crash test
and you AGAIN need a complete new infrastructure where you now could get compressed air

This video came to mind http://www.snotr.com/video/7266/Top_Gear_-_The_Reliant_Robin. Especially 2:20 of that video.

2.37: "If you use a wind turbine to compress the air, the emission will be quite zero"...

And if you use a wind turbine to generate electricity, the emission will be quite zero...

#9 If you use electricity to drive the car, you have to carry heavy batteries around.
And: There are not enough raw materials to build enough batteries for all cars in the world.
So this is a great idea in fact.

Running on air and _Compressed Air_ are two different things...
Picture of loadrunner54 achievements

Compressing the air still uses electric energy, what still is made from gas, coal, and radioactive material. If they have a solar powered compressor it is a very good idea.

The range could be increased by having an air compressor inside the car, driven by a high power petrol engine. :D

#12 Storing electric energy in batteries is a far bigger loss of energy than using it directly to produce compressed air. And, as already stated, you don't need big fat batteries and spare the weight.

Now just put a gas powered compressor on it to increase the range and...oops :x

A nice car.

This is the best suited car for India, no wonder Indian automobile manufacturer TATA is looking seriously to import this technology into India... :)

What about a pedal powered compressor or pump inside? in case air runs out before you get to a compressor.

Forget the problems with refill, range and looks, when you compress air it creates heat results in needless energy loss. Not as green as advertised.

Sadly but true a benzin or diesel car used, is cheaper then this plus u can buy up till a few years for it to run for same money :/

But great idea thou :)

you all so genius why dont you make one that you think it will help the earth. at least this guys are making a thing or two to help reduce to zero the use of fossil fuel.

Everyone seems to be missing the point here! This is one car, a first if you like. If it takes off (that would be cool you could fly everywhere)the designs will improve. It doesnt need to look like that, anymore than the model T Ford remained the only design of a Ford. This car could look like a Lamborgini if you wanted it too. I for one am more than pissed off paying £20 for enough fuel for a short journey to nowhere. The govenment would literally have to tax the air that we breath (albeit compressed)to get money out of the motorist.
There are a lot of cleaver bastards out there that would eventually get these cars doing 100mph+ and 250mpg or mpca I guess. :)

Also there is compressed air at most petrol stations, think about the queue for air if the guys in front are filling their tyres!

#27 These CA cars require about 4500 psi in their tanks. You won't find that at your local gas station.

#24 Oh yeah, so let's not try this and continue with the petrol extraction, factories and warss by extension...

Four years ago we first saw this concept from MDI.

It's not about the energy source, nor the emissions: it's about how to make the energy mobile: gasoline tank, compressed gas, batteries, hydrogen fuel cell, or compressed air.
