It's probably been sitting in someone's loft for a couple of years. moments later of course it would have appeared on ebay as fully tested hardly used. :S

Is it posible to fry a motherboard by blowing compressor air in cooler fan?
They are made from permanent magnets and they can generate some voltage is span really fast.

Yeah, NOPE...

i had a customer who used to smoke and drink all the time and he used to make us all very uncomfortable ( nosewize ).

his computer used to be white... but at the end, it kinda looked orange, yellow and brown mixed kinda color. it had same ammount of dust and crap inside with some sticky spots inside and outside of it.

everytime he came to the shop with his computer for some virus ( digital and biological ) we all had a fight who has to take care of it.

#11 When he put the nozzle close to the CPU fan he held the blade stationary with his fingers 2:50.

trust me this is nothing compared to some industrial computers... used to service them when they came back in from railway stations... people where meant to replace the dust filters on front and back but simply removed them once they where full... and these machines literally had an inch deep coating of dust and crap over the motherboard, and stank... again, air compressor is a great tool :)

#6 You still use AGP? Then your pc might be just as old =P I guess they used the pc just for a register system..no fancy graphic needed..so on-board card is enough =)

Gotta be a bit careful with that canned air, I've seen people breaking the plastic fans of coolers with it...

#11 I also asked myself the same question and I tried that for curiosity on a few computers but nothing happened :) As far as I know fan-coolers have a built in circuit board that includes a protection for this kind of stuff. Maybe engineers that projected the fans have thinked of this fact, because some people are taking their computers to IT service for dust cleaning where they use pressured air, and when cleaning circuit boards it is highly recommended to use canned air and not a vaccum and brush, because a vaccum can damage/short circuit the parts of the motherboard.

#11 My co-worker did fry a system by spinning the fan with a blower. But that was because he did it while it was running. I do it all the time with the systems unplugged and haven't had a failure yet.
