Haven't wee all seen this on Discovery before?
They use a similar wavelength as microwave oven and make you skin feel so hot that you can't stand it. I think they had two methods, one was to make you feel sick and one to make your skin feel really hot.

(BTW, he isn't thrown back like it seems, he's just reacting to the beam for the first time.)

OK, all this talk about 'control over people' and the like....don't you think these are better than...oh i don't know...BULLETS!?!?

These things are gonna be used on theyre own people long before they used them on others.

@no1home - are they better then bullets hmm i dont know is a life sentence better then being killed. I dont think so!
Living behind bars until you die from being old is like a lifetime of torture.

Sentence for life is worse then sentence to die. Death is quick and painless. Sentence for life is watching yourself die.

Slavery here we come!!

Hmmmm... wonder how effective those "rays" would be through foil or sheet metal? And for that matter how the emitter "gun" would react to those same rays being sent back to it using a reflective parabolic dish?! Just a thought... ;)

A government that kills when dispersing a justifiably pissed off crowd of legally assembled people can't claim the moral high ground. Bullets and killing people creates martyrs and further civil unrest - the sixties taught the US Govt. that much. Non lethal weaponry just makes the unhappy citizens say ouch, behave and go home like the good little consumers they are supposed to be.
