Certain tree's have wide root span, these will die when replanted as a large proportion of their root is lost.

#1 Obviously you wouldn't be able to relocate a sequoia but at least the smaller trees get a chance!

#1 Engineers that designed this type utility vehicle tested before producing it at large scale. And the tree has the ability to heal and regenerate if it is cut[including the root] I'm just saying :) I did a little experiment in my back yard and I have a few trees that makes 3 kinds of fruits. The procedure is called Grafting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grafting , simple but very interesting :)

They should come to Romania to see what "relocation" means to us: "Cut it down! It's in our way".

Thats incredible i actually live in this town and work just around the corner from this road. They're widening the road to four lanes so they needed to cut out the trees. Very happy to see them going somewhere useful. Pioneers park is very nice
