most people have the same problem when they get up too fast and blood rushes out of their heads
in his case he had too much pressure holding blood in muscules and such and fast release created that rush making him pass out

#9 you prevent the passing out by putting the weight back down as slowly as you lift it (not dropping it), and slowly stand back up taking pauses to breathe as you need to. this prevents the sudden pressure changes from overwhelming your body, weightlifting is dangerous for stupid people who use improper technique.

its actually increased thoracic pressure due to the holding of his breath increasing pressure on the vagus nerve which stimulates the baroreceptors and eventually the brain stem. this greatly lowers the heartrate and invariably, the blood pressure which results in poor perfusion to brain tissue ultimately leading to "passing out." nothing to do with blood in muscles...here come the negative votes now *sigh* :|
