They use a similiar system in small commercial aircraft fuel tanks. to prefent the engine from dry out in some situations. Airpockets can cause the fuel to float for a couple of seconds, or a steap emergency turn.

Pretty much every chainsaw,weed trimmer,and gas powered hedge trimmer,etc has been using this method for decades. I wonder why spray bottle makers have not caught on?

@sux2bu -- consumers would use entire bottle of product and therefore purchase replacements less often.
