It seems that it you give anything but a positive comment about these guys you get a negative comment ir several. Now I spent many years in my youth learning Karate and I would encourage anyone to take up a martial art from the point of view of health and weaponless self defence benifits. But I'm afraid in this world today if you are going to need to defend yourself it is likely going to be against some idiot with a knife or a gun and there are likely to be several of them as they are usually too cowardly to attack you on their own. Martial arts may give you an edge but getting the hell out of situations will give you a better one. The skills performed by these monks require years of training not available to a guy or gal with a mortgage and this was in use thousands of years ago. The world has changed and these monks need to change with it I'm afraid.... The thumb down button is the red one on the right

Actually, there is one martial art form invented by an buddist nun.
And this martial art has adepted in the last years and puts lots more weight into beeing attacked by knife, multiple attackers and laying on the ground while getting beating.
