#3, when long lengths of rail are welded together the rails are stressed, meaning they are pulled a specific length depending on the temperature. The length of rail to stress depends on the track geometry among other conditions. The rail is then fastened down to the sleepers to hold it. In the old days (and for lower traffic routes) fishplated rail has around a 2mm gap to allow for expansion as it's not stressed.

#4, flashbutt welding is expensive if your only needing to do a few welds, so thermite welding is cheaper. Also not always possible to get a machine to site.

I have definitely noticed this lately, I barely seem to see any 'original' posts from my friends on my newsfeed, instead my news feed has just come a wash of people 'liking' company videos and posts.

Its true, not all research dogs are kept in cages and treated like machines.. I have a friend who works at a certain multinational company which makes dog food.. For example the dogs there are allowed to go out an play each day and each week some of the dogs are taken around the office to be petted by office staff, some of which come down daily on their lunch breaks to pet the dogs. At the end of their careers many dogs are then adopted by company staff who give them a home the same as any other dog... Just saying..

This wasn't a landslide I believe, it was a building built by a number of dodgy contractors who took the money then filed for bankruptcy, so the building was constructed with basically no cement and very little concrete..

The top speaks are just standard full range speakers, that sub definitely causes vibrations by the cone moving in and out to shift air.. However it's just a standard 12" box someone would put in a car so vibrations this large from such a small speaker cone are impossible...
If you go to a large nightclub or gig you don't see the furniture and drinks vibrating round the place this much even if you are right next to the subs and they are MUCH more powerful..
Btw I'm just saying as I work with high power audio gear..
